Customer Service
The essence of our business is to excel and provide reliable service through our customer service department which is managed by Mimi Aquino, who has been with Austin for 20 years. We strive to meet our customers’ expectations of quality and efficient service. Our standardized procedure for order processing involves many professionals within our organization attending to numerous purchase order and contractual details.
Specification Review
Databases have been created to confirm a customer’s current specification against any new order. Assuring the manufacturer has accepted the correct information.
Currency Management Services
A fixed cost acceptable to the customer, addressing long manufacturing campaigns.
EPA, FDA, USDA
All necessary permits are secured and certifications are filed with the appropriate governmental agencies. Products are reviewed for inclusion on the TSCA list and confidential inventory. PMN registration is initiated when needed, and TSCA exemption is secured when appropriate. Customers are notified of EPCRA Section 313 chemicals. Registration of foreign manufacturers and assignment of NDC numbers are handled by our staff.
Hazard Evaluation
All requirements are met before shipment. Our staff evaluates product data to ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMO shipping regulations. Austin, is registered with Chemtrec to address any possibility and minimize the hazard and damage associated with a transportation incident. Material Safety Data sheets are written according to OSHA/DOT regulations and provided both to Chemtrec and to our customers as standard procedure.
U.S. Customs/Homeland Security
Products are reviewed for inclusion within the appropriate tariff classifications and binding tariff numbers are secured to ensure correct tariff assessments. With a network of custom brokers worldwide, we can assure rapid execution of customs clearance. We will pre-clear shipments, when ever possible, before landing in an effort to expedite delivery to our customers.
Follow Up and Delivery
Austin’s order entry system, is compatible with all major EDI/SAP standards. This system helps ensure timely shipment and delivery, and will provide immediate notification to our customers regarding a possible delay. Frequent personal contact with our worldwide manufacturers keeps us apprised of production and shipment status. We have the experience with transport carriers facilitating air, ocean, rail, and truck shipments to do the job right.

Austin’s global business center is located in Buffalo Grove, (Chicago, 31 years) Illinois. We serve customers throughout the world. In the United States, this centralized location allows easy access to customers in North America.
Our Customer Service, Financial, Operations departments, Sales and Marketing teams are based out of Buffalo Grove. Austin International (China, India and Korea) is managed from this location.
Shanghai, China – 20 Years
To deal with the complexity of working with Chinese companies, many of who are both suppliers and customers of Austin, we moved our office from Tianjin to Shanghai, a center of technology within China. This location provides easy access to manufacturers located in East and Southeastern China. From the industrial center of Shanghai, we have easy access to manufacturers in east and southeast – a heavily concentrated area of pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturers. Our presence in China has proven to be a valuable resource to customers and suppliers alike.
Chennai, India – 9 Years
Specializing in Sourcing and Procurement, our Indian Office audits manufacturing sites, negotiates with vendors, and supervises shipments in and out of India.
